The emo-infused hardcore project Gatto Black, led by musician-songwriter Sal Mastrocola, has released a powerful new single titled ‘Fatal Flaw,’ which you can listen to HERE. The new song is a prelude to Gatto Black’s forthcoming EP, ‘(Not) Ready to Die,’ which will be released by the excellent Buffalo indie label Triple Hammer Records. You can pre-order ‘(Not) Ready to Die’ HERE (and buy things from many other Buffalo bands too while you’re on the Triple Hammer site.) Gatto Black brings a unique element to Buffalo’s hardcore scene. Get on its music!
Speaking of Buffalo hardcore, few bands have had the kind of impact as Jeweltone did when it hit the scene last year. And to say its self-titled debut Demo was well-received is simply a gross understatement. It fucking killed. Now, Jeweltone will be following that debut with its much-anticipated follow-up EP, ‘Visions of Heaven,’ on Oct. 16. The band will also be marking the occasion with an EP release show on Oct. 25 at AMVETS. Oh, hell yeah!
The excellent punk trio Gumshoe will be releasing its latest single on Friday titled ‘Head on Straight,’ which was recorded earlier this year with living Buffalo legend Jay Zubricky at GCR. The band’s latest release comes on the heels of the new song ‘Monster Bitch’ which dropped in August. Check that single out at the link provided; its riff is absolutely badass. You can also check out the band’s video for ‘Monster Bitch’ HERE. Do not sleep on this band. Gumshoe is more than worthy of your time.
Pilot-Field will release two new songs on Friday. The band made the announcement today on its Instram page which you can follow HERE. The new songs will be the first releases by Pilot-Field since the band's three-track EP 'Counterfeits' dropped back in March.
We’re going to stray just a bit from music for one second to promote the first-ever Buffalo Indie Lit Expo happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 683 Northland Avenue in Buffalo. Hosted by the cooperative Band of Bards, the expo will feature more than 20 local creators from “all walks of art.” It’s really important to us to lift all aspects of Buffalo’s DIY culture and we hope you support this event.
And Sin Lung has released a new single titled ‘War Machine,’ inspired by the real-life story of soldier Jerry Shriver, called the ‘most terrifying’ man of the Vietnam War. Give it a listen at the link above.
As always, please support your scene and support all Buffalo artists.
